Comments for Microsoft Remote Desktop

I love how clean it is and that I can save my remote desks, organize them by groups and that it works perfect! I also like the users management a lot and that I can assign users to my desktops from my users list.

The headline says it all... Never figured out how to use it. Searched and read and never found my answers. I could see my desktop trying to login but kept getting the error "Your session ended because of an error. This might be due to an expired password. If this keeps happening, ask your admin or tech support for help." I am my admin and tech support... Make it simple... I was wanting to control my desktop from my iPhone 6+...

No longer works on Surface Hub. This happened once before but another update fixed it. Has been broken for several weeks now. Really affecting our training.

Doesn't seem to work with Azure AD credentials for connecting to a PC or server

Easy GUI reference just like RealVNC Cloud, like the fact its free and by Microsoft and not a 3rd party when it comes to remote. Absolutlely love this tool.

The desktop version of this allows me to share resources, such as drives and printers. I can't seem to find those options here.

I think it has a lot of potential

its very good alternative for remote desktop, it doesn't have all the futures that default rdp client has but it offer a lot of other cool stuff. it should be a possibility to assign a master password for this app since it allows saving multiple logins and sensitive data

I need to connect to multiple different servers using the same login name but with different passwords. E.g. Connect to Server 1 as userA/passwordA, to Server 2 as userA/passwordB, to Server N as userA/passwordN. In this app, each login equates to an account but when I try to create the second connection/account (userA/passwordB) I get an error: "That account is already setup." I tried to use different groups but that did not make a difference. I must have the credentials saved so I may connect with a single click. I do this connection dozens of times to different servers each day and manually entering the credentials is just out of the question! The Win 8.1 Rdp client allowed me to do this. It is beyond me how you your programmers could have ignored such important backward compatibility requirement. Am I overlooking something? The concept of the "Account" should not be dependent on the local environment.

This doesn't work with a gateway. Tried to switch from Remote Desktop Connection Manager, but can't because I can't get it to work with gateway server.

Hi, I hope someone from Microsoft Sees This. Since the Creator An Update came out for the Surface Hub - 2 days ago, and Remote Desktop no longer works. Can this be fixed ASAP?

The only thing missing for me is the ability to connect to my local resources like my hard drive.

This client is really pretty, but unless you're connecting to your terminal server over an Ethernet LAN, the connection is very laggy. In the old client, you could tone down color depth from 32 bit to 16 bit, which would greatly improve the performance, but you don't have that option (or any other option, really) in the new client. I found a 'workaround' - limiting the max color depth on your RDP server via GPO. It works if your 'server' is a Win7 Pro pc you're trying to RDP to, not sure though if it will work on a Win10 server though... https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772048%28v=ws.11%29.aspx
