Hand of Fate – Official Windows 10 Edition

Deckbuilding comes to life in Hand of Fate! An infinitely replayable series of quests - earn new cards, build your deck, then try to defeat it! Build your deck, enter the world of Hand of Fate, and prepare to face the Ace of Skulls. "Words fail me at describing just how seamlessly Defiant Development managed to blend the tailored experience aspect of deck building games with the hack-and-slash excitement of action-RPGs." - The Escapist "If you are a fan of either old school adventure books, Gauntlet from its glory days, collectible card games, Rogue or just general fantasy, this game is for you" - Gamestyle 9/10 "Whether you are a CCG veteran or not, you need to play this game…right now!" - Godisageek 9/10 "Defiant Development’s newest project feels like playing a customizable card game, Dungeons & Dragons, and Batman: Arkham Asylum all at the same time; if that idea doesn’t excite you, then I have no idea what will." Gaming Union 9/10 Beyond the thirteen gates at the end of the world, the game of life and death is played. Draw your cards, play your hand, and discover your fate. Hand of Fate is a hybrid roguelike/action-RPG/deck builder, in which the player builds a set of cards into a deck, which is then used to deal out the dungeon floors through which they adventure. Upon entering a combat, all of the cards the player has collected fly into their hands as fully modeled 3D assets, and combat begins. Microsoft Xbox 360® Controller (or equivalent) is recommended. Key Features * Tabletop card game brought to vivid life. * A unique take on roguelike gameplay. * Visceral action-RPG combat. * Game changing gear and items make every play through unique. * Hundreds of encounters, items, armor, weapons, artifacts, and mysteries to unlock. * Unique deck building mechanics let you customise your own adventure, as you seek to defeat the Jack, Queen and King of each suit.

Great game, but without cloud save and achievements there is no reason to get this version over Steam one that has both of these things.

Great game all around, somewhat flawed experience thanks to some minor problems. First off- After 10-15 minutes of play, certain cards and enemies will "Black out" and not be visible anymore causing me to have to close out and open again for it to be temporarily resolved. Still playable when this happens, but it gets annoying real quick. Second- The lag can kill, literally. I play it at the lowest framerate and I still get the occasional fit of lag induced slow-mo that only seems to effect my characters actions and not the enemy's, which when it catches up will have landed 3 or 4 hits on me. With that said, this game is great. Original formula that is very addictive, and if they address these problems will prove to be a must try for any RPG or D&D fan.

Could use some optimization for my Surface Pro 3 but still, with my resolution lowered, I can play this smoothly. Maybe if the devs could add a resolution option in-game, that would be just fantastic.

almost perfect review score??? realllllly???? The game crashed almost constantly while playing it. Given my laptop is not high-end specs, but I can play SFIV ultra edition without a hitch even with arcade joystick. This game not even recognize my xbox 360 controller pc version??? WTF. This is probably my last game purchase in Windows Store. At this point I don't think MSFT can play catch-up with PS/Steam. That's SAD!!!!!!!

Graphics are cool. Controls make it nigh unplayable. They don't appear to actually correlate to any particular direction. It's like the character is blind drunk. Pass. Don't know what all the rave is about. Perhaps it is just too laggy.

not to far into the game as of yet but I must say I really love this game. I hope they come up with more like this one.

If you're bored of the run-of-the-mill, hack-and-slash RPGs, then this is like a breath of fresh air. Great storytelling!

Honestly when I bought the game I thought it was going to be just another fighting adventure game, but I was sorely wrong. This game blends together elements of an action game like batman arkham asylum with a card game like spades. Try it out if your looking for something unique to play.
