I'm giving 3 stares because you are only given a pencil and an eraser. Nothing else. You should at least get the coloring pencil option and just pay for the color paper part. It's kind of a reasonable price but you need to buy everything for $0.99 each. I also wish that you could hit "ctrl z" but you need to hit the arrow on the bottom of the screen to undo mistakes. At least it has sensitivity support for drawing tablets. It's nice but give more than a pencil and eraser.

Surprised you don't have to buy the eraser

I purchased the color layer paper set. It was charged to my account but it never showed up on the app.

They focused specifically on pencil and ink sketching, and it shows in the details. For instance, the blending stump/tortillon tool smudges in a more realistic manner than anything I've seen short of a carefully tweaked full Photoshop. It's a beautiful sight.

This is as of now, in my opinion the best pencil drawing app on the market today. Or at leased on the Windows store. I'm not an artist and my drawing skills are really bad. But in the last month, I have gone from really bad, to just bad. Using this on a surface pro 4 feels like your working with real paper, and the pencils look and act like the real thing. I practice my art almost every day with this app and use it more than any other. If you have a surface pro of any kind, get and use this app. It Rocks! PS. All the stars are the same color so I hope I gave 5 stars. Also an update would some more stuff would be nice. Thank you..

I used this app a more than a year ago and thought it was rather basic at the time. However, I decided to give it another change and, my goodness, it's worlds better than it was. I can safely recommend it as a decent alternative to the likes of Sketchable. The tools are reasonably priced and it really does an excellent job of mimicking a pencil. I only subtracted one star because: 1) It needs to support the split screen abilities built into windows. I often need to look at reference pictures when practicing and the split screen really helps. 2) It really should support the eraser built into the Surface pen to make it more natural and to go along with the excellent pencil tool in this app 3) Every once in a while I run into a slight delay when I'm drawing quickly and it messes up. I don't run into this in Sketchable or Autodesk. Still, these are relatively minor flaws when compared to rest of the app. It is a quality product and I don't mind supporting this developer.

This is an amazing sketching app and the pencil looks very realistic and the sketchbooks are a cool feature to. The only thing is, I cant use any of the purchased tools off the internet... they just don't work... this needs to be fixed that is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars

I'm a third generation graphite artist that has made more money than your grandkids grandkids could spend I'm well know and the best in my field and also highly against the evolution of art and technology I'm very outspoken about it I've tested all of the main art programs was even a graphite consultant for the biggest company was thrilled to fined that technology hasn't and won't ever make a graphite stroke look real on a computer... congratulations you have done it and it makes me sick to my stomach I'm sure people reading this will think I'm getting paid to say what I stated truthfully this is the first free review I've ever done and last .....if this app gets less than 5 stars then go back to coloring bugs bunny and friends ok I'm going to go hang myself now

I have tried countless paid and open source sketching software and they all had their unique perks. However, performance and simplicity is chief complaint across all of them. Then I found Graphiter. It easily keeps up with all my mad scribbling, smudging and erasing. The UI is near perfection. Honestly, you won't find a better piece of software even if you spend over $40. It seems that the developer read the reviews and focused specifically on those issues and feature set that many of us have been struggling to find. My only complaint is that I don't like the need to be connected to the internet to use the extra in app purchased tools. I would give four stars because of that issue however because I think the current rating for this app is grossly misleading, I feel comfortable giving this app a full 5 stars. Hey other art software developers, look who got it right! Hole in One Haha. Finally!

Where is delete function? I need to delete my sketch book and can't find any delete function. WTH?!

I thought that this would be a cool thing to use to create art, but I was wrong. Not only do the lines made by the pencil look weird and grainy , BUT you can ONLY use the pencil and eraser tool. The other tools cost .99 cents. No color, no anything other then grey and white ( unless you choose a different background). Therefore leaving your drawings or sketches two colors and two colors only. I was very excited for this but then became highly disappointed with this. Unless you plan on buying each and every tool, go ahead. Other than that, don't waste your time. As a matter of fact, don't waste your money either. There are plenty of WAY better drawing apps that can get , so just keep looking. Oh yeah and also, ( personally haven't found a way) you can't have layers either.

don't like it. The lines aren't smooth, they have many edges. I wish they could fix this. As a person that doesn't want to pay, there isn't many options.

They should offer more free tools to use, some people don't like paying for everything

Yes, have to spend $2.97 to get the colored pencil, pen and blend tool, I would have paid more to have this accurate of an experience. Wish fors: * More export options, especially PDF with layers for work in Adobe apps. * Ability to use sketchbooks on multiple devices, for example, I have Win10 tabletPC, a 2in1, a pure tablet and a desktop with touchscreen, and would like to work seamlessly across these devices with sketchbooks saved to OneDrive. * Bundle pack of all the add-ons at once. * Double bonus points for a charcoal pencil that works as wonderfully well as the graphite! Note that these are ways to enhance the workflow vs. additional complexity within the sketching tools Otherwise, please keep the simplicity and sketching fidelity that the app so admirably provides today.

I don't like the feel - sorry, this isn't for me

As soon as I noticed I needed to pay for each different tool. (Such as colored paper, or a simple blender) I uninstalled it. There's plenty of other programs out there that are much better as a free version, and that actually gives real incentive to pay for it.

U guys should have most colors included because some people don't like to buys things

I tried a humongous amount of apps and programs for my surface pro 4 pen and i have to say this one is by far the best sketching app i found, it only does that but it does well. no 5 starts because is awfully limited, get more tools please, have great potential.

Amazing!

I am using this in my surface pro 4 and I love to sketch in it. To add additional skills, I purchase ink pen, color pencil and blender but they are not activate when ever I use this application off line. That is why I am giving two star. If the problem solve, I will go for 5 star.... please solve this as soon as possible... Also need to know how to save sketch in various image formats like jpeg, png etc.... Thanks...

Great app. Very realistic. It would be nice if you were able to create multiple versions of a sketch. Say if you wanted to add color, but not lose the original u n-colored sketch. One other thing, I paid for the use of all of the tools and the app wont let me use them unless I have wifi. That needs to be fixed.

Been waiting years for developers to create something like this program. It's realistic and gives me the freedom to create on the go at work and at my studio. I want the full version if it's developed even further at some point.

(PC test ) WHATS'S GOOD: Well thought out! Great :Free + :Paid Service. I have tried many, but it gives a great experience without all these extra effects. Note: Do not think this is a effect maker or whatever, think of it as a experience to Sketch and draw your ideas to create life in what you draw. THE BAD: Seems like it has some store problems with the region, if you want to buy the app's (Add-ons) to experience the real deal you need to set it in the US to buy it, and some things are missing in the EU version ( Like Pen and Layers). Haven't figured out how to correct it just yet, but It could be that it has not yet been updated, ...You will still enjoy this! Keep up the good work!

I've been using this for a while now, and currently am using it in a figure drawing class I have every week in college. It's by far the only app that lets me sketch with pencil, like I sketch in person! I really love this and only small things would make it better for me, like adding layer options as well as being able to control the size of the canvas would greatly be of benefit. Even more toned colored pages would be amazing. Regardless this is an app I will always gladly use because it looks like I draw on paper without the paper waste.
