I've been using Duolingo on my Android devices for years. It's a great way to keep in touch with my language learning. When I saw there was an app for Windows, I decided to give it a try. As compared to the Android app, there are some gaps. The Windows app doesn't have any speaking exercises. And it's not nearly as forgiving as the Android app for things like misspellings. I sort of take that as a good thing, except when I have to restart an exercise because I ran our of hearts. I've also noticed a few content errors. In one case, my response was perfect; it agreed with the response from the app, but yet it was marked wrong. In another case, the "correct" answer was patently wrong. And there's no way in the Windows app to connect with the Duolingo community to comment on a given exercise, or compare answers with others. Still, it's a good tool. Looking forward to seeing some improvements in it soon!

I can't stand the three hearts and I believe it is deterrent to enjoy learning.

I really like the app because it let's me manage the level of learning I can do per day. It helps me with pronunciation and images and although I didn't think I could form small phrases from the beginning, it proves me I can do that. Really like it!
