At The Plate

At The Plate is a universal windows app for coaches and parents to score baseball games, capture detailed statistics on your players, and share the results with others. It supports any windows device including laptops and mobile devices. At The Plate simplifies scoring by recommending results for a play based on the current state of the game - who is on base, what kind of hit, whether or not there was an error, and taking into account the rules of the game. You verify the recommendations and, if necessary, make adjustments to record the actual outcome. As a result, you spend less time scoring the game and more time paying attention to what's going on in the field of play. Mistakes can be quickly undone and corrected. At The Plate tracks the standard metrics for each player - batting average, OBP, slugging percentage, ERA, fielding percentage, putouts and assists, stolen base percentage, and scatter charts of hits, pitcher stats including innings pitched, ERA, strike percentage, and more. At The Plate also creates a detailed play-by-play and pitch-by-pitch descriptions of each game. You can share the game as it is being scored with those who can't attend in person using the Twitter Play-By-Play feature. By allowing At The Plate to use your Twitter account, the app will send play-by-play details to anyone following you. Configuring a unique Hashtag for your team will allow followers to quickly and easily view only those tweets that are about your game. After the game, details can be shared with others via email, OneDrive or other file-sharing apps. Team statistics, Play-By-Play and the Box Score are provided as rich text (rtf) files suitable for use by Word, WordPad or any other rich text editor. Statistics can be filtered by any combination of games, tournaments, regular and post-season, and in and out-of-conference. Lineups can be created on-the-fly as players come up to bat, or they can be set up ahead of time or copied from previous games. Games can be set up for 6, 7 and 9 regulation innings with extra innings formats including tie-breakers.

Features:

  • Create your favorite teams, with rosters and schedules quickly and easily.
  • Add lineups ahead of time or as the players come up to bat. Substitute players on offense and defense with a few taps.
  • Automatically capture detailed offensive, defensive and pitching stats for each player.

Like the simple game time interface, but it is tricky to skip or add extra batters when in "everyone bats" mode (unless I'm missing a slick way around it?).

So far I like the interface. I am just setting things up. However coaching a 10u Pony Mustang Division Team I need to be able to assign 4 outfielders. I hope that this is something that you can change. Thanks

My biggest issue is with pitching changes. On a few occasions I have changed the pitcher, he shows up on the mound with a zero count fine when updated. Then maybe one or two plays later, it reverts back to the old pitcher. I try to change again, but then it shows the new pitcher on the change, but the old pitcher on the mound. Because of this, their stats interact and my entire pitcher stats are now integrated between two pitchers. Because of that, I would like to see a way to go back after the game is over to make corrections, but there's not option that I see allowing that. Lastly, I would like see a scoring only option in the game summary added to the play-by-play and pitch-by-pitch. Oh, and a way to toggle the time on and off that appears on the summary. I don't care to know how far into a game a certain play happened. That's it, aside from that, its actually a good app with many options.

Great app. Only flaw is it doesn't seem to score sacrifices properly. I wasn't able to selected a sacrifice bunt when needed and it scores sacrifice flies as at bats as well. So, for some reason, it scores sacrifices as at bats, which they are not. It does let you change pitchers of records, but it took me a while to figure out how. Maybe should include in instructions on how to do this. Other than that seems to work great.

I like the app its one of the only ones on windows 10. it has takin some getting use to for sure. its time consuming if you are trying to set it up for the 1st time. I have found it easy to make mistakes while trying to live score. the final results are worth the troubles.

It is a good app, however needs some tweet to keep score of MLB games. No way to change losing or winning pitcher.

I like being able to score games and get stats, especially spray charts. Stats are pretty solid. However, as a former official scorer, I found a few bugs. One, there was a play where the batter gets a sacrifice, but also gets on base. There is no way to give them a sacrifice, yet an error on the pitcher, or a fielder's choice if they try fail to get an out at a different base. The 2nd, I found out it doesn't give the pitcher's the correct decision. I tested it out by scoring a Yankee game, and the reliever should have been tagged with the loss, yet it went to the starter. If you could allow the scorer to come up with the decisions, that would be helpful. Finally, the catcher fielding stats are not accurate, as if they catch a 3rd strike, the catcher is given the putout.
