I can't sign in to read my books. It always says email address or password invalid. However, on the website it works....

I recently refreshed my Windows mobile phone and re-installed all my favorite apps...until now, the Kindle app was near the top of my list. After re-installing, I attempted to sign-in to my Amazon account and register my device. Password not accepted. Ok, sometimes fat-fingering happens, so I tried it again. No love. I double-checked my password, signing in via my laptop; the password wad good. While I was on my laptop I decided to clear my registered device list (there were some old devices listed, along with my current phone; I cleared then all). Later I want back to register the Kindle app on my Windows phone and had the same issue. Contacting support, they sent a slew of 10 minute temporary passwords, none worked. So, basically the app is absolutely useless for those who need to register their device...that's everyone downloading it to a new, or refreshed, device. I'm hoping that the Amazon Dev team will fix the issue soon; I have some eBooks that I'm dying to read!

The app has been on my phone for over a year and suddenly froze/kicked me out. No books! No error message! No email! These steps might work for you. Delete and reinstall app. Create and account. Login, at this point you'll get an error message. Check your email for the security code. Sign in with it. All should be good. This worked for me. Give 3 stars for NO warning this was coming. No email, message, or note in the app store. Thanks for trying to keep my info safe. Don't make it such a chore to figure out!

Amazon customer support pretty much told me the mobile app is no longer supported which explains why there are no new features or cannot log in. As a kindle books owner, and windows phone user, my only resort to read MY OWN BOOKS is to remove the kindle DRM. Just Google it, use Calibri desktop app to convert your kindle books to Epub, then use one of many quality epub reader apps in windows store, then you can essentially access your kindle collection. I save mine in a OneDrive folder. You can also read library books in new Overdrive app called Libby. Works great 😊 highly recommended.
