Even if this app detected all my stuff, which it didn't, the design is fatally flawed. I see where they want to go with it, but the developer should be embarrassed at what a poor effort this is.

see, I'm on my laptop trying to get it to connect to my tv but it wont work. it keeps saying everyday to rescan my network, and I do but it still doesn't do anything.

This app doesn't work at all. It wants you to setup with wifi and it can't find any devices even if it's connected to the same wifi network. Remove this stupid app from the store
