Language assistant

The app “Language Assistant” helps you achieve effective communication. The app is being designed and developed keeping in view the requirements of the global traveler. However, it does not disappoint the users who aim to develop their proficiency in a particular language. It follows a comprehensive principle of ‘Translate’, ’Learn’, ‘Assess’ . The app as per the principle is divided into three sections. In the first section ‘Translate’, If the user desires to know the translation of a particular phrase in a particular language, then the app will retrieve it from a vast expanse of translated phrases provided with the app. Since human language is versatile, we may miss out some phrases. Even then this app doesn't disappoint you. It will fetch and give the user, the required translation, provided the user has access to the internet. The second section ‘Learn’ will help the user learn the phrases used in everyday life in a foreign country/ non native language, by providing him with an exquisite selection of lessons and the phrases present within. This section follows a learning methodology which will help you in easily learning the phrases. Check out the app to know about the exciting new methodology. We have provided user access to the first level and the first lesson. As he/she completes the lessons, he/she will be granted access to further lessons. This is done, keeping in mind, that the lessons have been designed to be learnt in a particular sequence. The third and the final section ‘Assess' will help an inquisitive learner check his proficiency in a particular language of his choice. Play the master quiz of translations with over 2000 unique sentences resulting in a different question set every time, by clicking "Assess me" button on main page. You can also share the score with your friends and challenge them to score higher than your score. Some guidelines to be followed : (These can be viewed from the app also) a) This is the first build of the app. So, if you face any minor inconveniences (even though it was extensively tested), please feel free to contact the developer using "Email Dev" button in settings page. b) Also, the translations provided are machine translated, which means they are under a process of continual improvement. We are working towards improving the quality of services provided and will enhance the translations furthermore in future versions. c) This app has been provided with speech capability(text-to-speech). But currently, it is supported only for English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese. You need to download the language speech packs from "Settings" app of Windows Phone -> "Speech" -> "Speech Language" option, in order to get (text-to-speech) support in the app. That's it for now. It has a good start however none of the languages on my phone will pronounce the words in the other languages. This is a problem because I wish to speak those languages. Still useful for writing purposes.

Excellent tool for learning a language. The only disadvantage is that sessions aren't coordinated between my PC and Windows phone. I had to create a separate account for each device.

This app is pretty good for language learning. You can choose which language you want to learn or translate, and the audio is clear and allows you to repeat it over and over. It's fun learning, and you can have more than one language applied and switch. It is well designed. I have used the "LEARN" part of it which is challenging, but interesting. It gives you words such as days ofweek or colors or family members, and asks you to remember it. You can repeat the audio as many times as you need before moving to The Next word or step. Then it gives a series of sentences related to The word and then you het quized. The only thing is it wasn't working well for the audio, and after MANY tries to install the needed speech language, I had to finally ask a computer engineer to figure *** to het it working to hear the audio, and I have still not geen able to get the part where you type in a word to Be translated to work, but I am still enjoying it to get soms pretty good foreign lang lessons.
