Like all previous reports, I am unable to log in

No idea if this is any good because you simply cannot log in. Pretty big flaw to ignore for as long as they have.

This app will not allow you to establish Collections to sort you kindle books into subject areas. The need to get the original Kindle App to work and interface with this operating system or upgrade the current app. Also unable to create a shortcut icon on my traditional desktop look

Even once you get in, it doesn't sync with other devices, and there's no simple way to navigate to different sections of a book. You must turn pages one-by-one. Who's idea was this? Better to just go on Kindle on the web.

Unusable. Will not allow to sign in. Keeps saying that information provided is incorrect. Well, its not. And now I'm out a book for my class!!!!!

The login doesn't work. You would think the people who made the app would get the most basic feature down right. Do they even test their apps or read these reviews?

love my kindle, & access on both laptop & phone. but windows 10 app has weird hidden options, more flexibility on my phone. Playing with it now that it is summer, looking to adjust settings & cannot find them anywhere. Found old info from previously looking, apparently it was change w/ the upgrade from win 8 to win 10. Much of win 10 I love (HATE windows 7), but some things could be more intuitive for long term users of windows! Didn't want to upgrade in the middle of a book, but phone is safe. Will there be a helpful update in win 10?? I am looking for: multiple highlight options (that don't crash when you use them) organizing/ star options in notes access to app settings within app -- page swiping (I keep going backwards after being used to "page curl" swiping on phone rather than arrow keys mid-screen). Hoping an upgrade won't lose app stability though. Please keep working for stable apps! I don't want a kindle as a separate device & won't be buying one. I WILL be buying ebooks

never have had trouble signing in and all of a sudden I'm having issues

I downloaded the app on my Windows 10 pc due previous positive experience with app on other devices. I could not even sign in with Amazon credentials. Seriously?

This is terrible, I can't sign in. How can Amazon ignore this. Microsoft is a big contender in the market. Fix this! I have a new computer running Windows 10.

avatar

It doesn't allow me to log in even though I put my e-mail and password correct. Please fix this!

Can't sign in when 2-factor-auth is enabled on your account. I found the kindle app for windows 10 on the Amazon site. That one works flawlessly.

avatar

OMG, you have to append your 2FA authenticator code to your password to log in. Who does that without at least putting instructions in the app?

avatar

3 July 2017

Login is broken. Really frustrating when you can't access the books you've already bought.

avatar

you can't sign in at all, come on amazon get your sh*t together and fix this app, how hard can it be???

Login fails on Windows 10, it tells me my email/password is not correct. I logged into Kindle on my Android phone so I know the problem is not on my end.

avatar

I've tried various times to login. I can login on my phone, and on amazon.com. This app keeps on giving me a wrong email/password combination.

As others have said, this app does not let you log in, despite credentials being correct. UPDATE-- A time sensitive password was sent and that one did allow me to log in. Hopefully there will be no more issues.

avatar

the app keeps crashing every time I try to login

avatar

feels like Amazon is not supporting this version anymore. THey have another one

avatar

will not sign in

Windows 10 - can not login with the Amazon Account

avatar

28 June 2017

I have not ben able to use this app for almost a year due to login failure issues described in so many posts below. Finally, one of the posts described getting an email that had a one-time use code that allowed login. Once I found that email, I was again able to use this app. PLEASE UPDATE THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED IN THE STORE TO DIRECT PEOPLE TO THIS EMAIL. It would also be good to update the app to give this direction--but, Microsoft, you should at least demand Amazon provide clear directions in the Store! Good app that is useless if you can't login!

App requests your Amazon log in, when entered, app will not allow log in, states info is wrong

avatar

28 June 2017

Can't even sign in with correct credentials. Worthless

avatar

27 June 2017

During the initial login, I used the correct credentials but got an error. Based on the recommendation of other reviews I went to my email account used by Amazon and they had sent me a one time code that worked. There was no other indication or message that would suggest this action, so they need to fix it.

avatar

27 June 2017

After a fresh install it wouldn't take my credentials. A quick online search revealed others with the same problem. I removed the app. Amazon, perhaps some basic testing is in order. SOLUTION: I noticed other users on here reporting that a one-time password in sent to your email when you first try to log in. That worked. So the problem is very poor messaging in the app. Amazon, please......

App is fine once signed in. I have two-step verification enabled for my Amazon account and there were no clear instructions for signing in under this condition. Turns out, the way to do it is to APPEND the Authenticator code to the password. For example, if your password is "password" and the two-step code (from text message or Authenticator app) is 123456, then use "password123456" as your password when signing into this app. Clear as mud, but it works. Amazon should enable this app for two-step verification rather than forcing everyone to figure this out. See https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201962400.

I have attempted to log into my account using this app, but it failed to authenticate. This is in no way an acceptable situation, and workarounds don't count. I work in software QA, and this is an embarrassment. It communicates to me that they have no development resources backing this app, and no QA either. This should not have made it to the windows store, and should not make it to your computer. Amazon, Fix it or pull the app from the market place.
