    * Hi everyone. I have started this application Earthquakes back in 2011, so 5 years ago, but today I am considering closing the access to it for Windows Phone and Windows devices. On April 15th, this application will stop working. The reason is pretty simple, the cost of managing the server is getting to high and I would like to keep working on other projects. It's been a great (and shaky smile emoticon ) adventure but after a few days/weeks, I will stop the server and the application will stop working. Thanks to all the users of this service, your help in making this application the number one to track earthquakes around the globe has been something amazing and I am very grateful for that! Feel free to go to http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ to get the list of the last earthquakes. And remember, be prepared!!! Fabien

Earthquakes

With this free application, you can see the list of earthquakes all around the world thanks to the data provided by US Geological Survey. You’ll be able to display all of them on a map, and have some information about the earthquake. The push notifications will inform you when an earthquake happens in a specific area you defined. You'll also be informed if an alert for a Tsunami has been sent. Inform your friends via Facebook or Twitter using the share feature. Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/FabienLavocat

This if the BEST earthquake app! Life the way it is set up, the news stories, everything about it is perfect and quite frankly it is so good I am willing to pay for it to continue on the Windows phone platform. It simply is that good.

I was delighted to find this app to duplicate one of the same name on Windows gadgets. It has some things I would change but it has suited my needs. When I tried to use it the other day the configuration options were missing so I came to discover why. Now I find that the app is closed. I wish I could offer my bandwidth but I'm sure it uses much more than I pay for. Too bad USGS doesn't simply host the data in such a way than it doesn't need to be relayed. I guess I will need to figure out my own web page so I can reference the data easier. I'll miss you 😢

I really enjoy this app. I never realized how many minor earthquakes happen in a day. My brother lives in Alaska and vacations in Hawaii. I understand if you have to remove it .
